Carla’s local roots run deep. Raised in El Cerrito, she grew up in a real estate family. Her father, “Mac” McFarland was an El Cerrito-Richmond Broker for many years, and Carla absorbed a great many talents and skills from him.
Carla is a powerful and effective force in Real Estate. Her skills in home renovation and sales, and her deep knowledge of the market are essential to effectively pricing and presenting properties. These skills combined with up-to-date tools for today’s marketing have propelled both she and her business partner of over 25 years, Geri Stern, to the top levels of sales in the East Bay.
While committed to her business, Carla is not only a Realtor/Broker. She is a dynamic and driving force of nature behind so many philanthropic ventures in the East Bay and beyond. A champion of women’s and girls’ rights, Carla has been a member of the Richmond Chapter of Soroptimist International for over three decades. Her stewardship of their primary fundraiser as Chair of the “Culinary Caper” for over 25 years is an area legend.
Together with S/I Richmond and the Community who support these causes, Carla has assisted in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for groups such as the Bay Area Rescue Mission, Richmond Art Center, West County Salesian Boys and Girls Clubs and many more. For more than 20 years she was on the steering committee for the Girls Town of Italy Fashion Show luncheons, raising money to elevate the lives of girls and boys in need around the world. And in addition to these worthy ventures, Carla is a Past President and Board member of the Early Childhood Mental Health Program in West Contra Costa.

She has assisted homebuyers and homesellers in all price ranges throughout all of Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
